Nissan cars has just unveiled the new Magnite Kuro edition and Magnite EZ-Shift in India. The former is the all-black version of the subcompact SUV while the latter introduces the AMT transmission on the 1.0-litre N/A petrol motor.
During the event, the company also gave a glimpse at its future product launches which include a C SUV, C+ SUV and a Smart Electric model. The C-segment SUV could be Nissan Qashqai which was showcased in India last year. In addition to these models, the company also confirmed that the new 2024 Nissan X-Trail will make its way to the country with an imminent launch.
The Magnite Kuro (Japanese for black) edition gets the blacked-out treatment. Nissan has given the subcompact SUV an all-black grille, grille surrounds, roof rails, skid plate, door handles, alloy wheels, and headlight accents. In fact, only the Nissan and Magnite badges, and the red-black calipers are the non-black elements on the exterior.
Moving inside, the all-black theme continues to the roof liner, door trims and handles, steering wheel, sun visors, and AC vent surrounds. The Magnite Kuro edition is based on the top-spec XV trim, meaning it already comes loaded with features like a wireless charger, 360-degree camera, 8-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, six-speaker audio setup, and more.
The Nissan Magnite EZ-Shift brings the AMT gearbox to the lower 1-litre N/A petrol models. This now makes the AMT gearbox available through all variants - XE, XL, XV and XV Premium.

Nissan stated that prices for the Magnite Kuro Edition will be announced on October 7. It will also commemorate the Magnite being the official car of the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. Bookings have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Meanwhile, prices for the Magnite EZ-Shift will be revealed on October 12. Prices for the Magnite currently range from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Magnite rivals the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, and the Hyundai Venue.
