Nissan India conducted its ‘Move Beyond’ event today in New Delhi, where the company showcased its future plans to the country. Riding on the success of the Magnite, sub-compact SUV, the brand plans to strengthen its SUV portfolio with the launch of numerous globally popular models in the country. The Nissan Qashqai, Juke and the X-Trail will be the SUVs used for this pilot test. All new models from Nissan will come with e-power hybrid or electric technology and the X-Trail will be the first product to launch once testing is complete.
Now in its 4th generation, the new Nissan X-Trail will showcase the company’s global design language in the country. The car will feature the familiar trapezoidal front grille along with a split design for the headlamp. The luxury SUV will be available with three powertrain options- a turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech putting out 162 bhp and 300 Nm; a e-Power strong hybrid tech unit producing 200 bhp and 330 Nm; and strong hybrid all-wheel drive offering 213 bhp and 330 Nm (front) and 195 Nm (rear) torque.

The next project in the pipeline is the Nissan Qashqai. A compact SUV, the Qashqai is the brands most popular product in the international market. A sharp looking car, the four-wheeler gets an all new styling. The new model is also bigger than the Nissan Kicks that is currently on sale in India. Like the X-Trail, the Qashqai will also come powered by an e-Power hybrid technology. The interiors of the all-new Qashqai will feature a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a similarly sized infotainment screen, shift-by-wire gear selector, connected-car tech, as well as ADAS functionality.
The last product to arrive in India will be the Nissan Juke, which is also its smallest SUV offering in the international market. The all new model will come powered by two petrol engine option. The first is a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol unit producing 115 bhp and 200 Nm of torque with overboost, while the other is a new 4-cylinder unit mated to an electric motor. The strong hybrid unit is rated for an overall power output of 145 bhp. The turbo petrol will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT while the e-Power variant will be available with an e-CVT only.
