Land Rover has just launched the Velar Facelift in India, with prices starting from Rs 93 lakh (ex-showroom). The automaker had already started accepting bookings for the new model, with deliveries slated to begin from September this year. Here is what is different in the New Range Rover Velar.
Compared to the outgoing model, the facelifted Land Rover Velar gets revised LED DRL’s and new pixel LED highlights. The rest of the premium SUV in profile looks fairly similar to the older Velar except for the introduction of new taillights and a redesigned rear bumper.
Moving inside, the changes are more significant. The upgraded Velar offers an overhauled dashboard that is similar to the New Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. Key highlights include a new 11.4-inch infotainment system running on Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro software with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside a fully-digital instrument console. Further the rotary dial for the Land Rover Terrain Response System in the older Velar has been incorporated within the touchscreen. Talking about the centre console, out goes the HVAC controls and one will also notice there presence of lesser physical buttons. Both these elements have been replaced by a new storage area that incorporates wireless charging.
2023 Land Rover Velar Facelift comes equipped with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The former is a 2-litre turbo-petrol motor capable of producing a maximum power output of 250 bhp with 365 Nm of peak torque while the latter is a 2-litre turbo diesel mill producing 204 bhp and 430 Nm torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is the only transmission option available on both fuel types.
Both the petrol and diesel Range Rover Velar Facelift are priced at Rs 93 lakh (ex-showroom). This is a hike of Rs 3.59 lakh in comparison to the previous model.
In India, the New Velar will rival the likes of the Porsche Macan and the Jaguar F-Pace
