Renault India currently has three entry-level products in its portfolio, including the Kwid hatchback, Kiger subcompact SUV, and Triber compact MPV. Aiming to boost sales of its existing models, the French automaker has rolled out multiple special editions of these three vehicles. This year, the company plans to give major updates to the Kiger and Triber. The launch of the third-gen Renault Duster in India has been pushed to early 2026. The new Renault Kiger and Triber facelifts are expected to arrive in the second half of 2025. Let’s take a look at the expected key changes for both models.
Major changes are expected to be made to their design. The updated models are likely to feature sharper design elements, with a completely revised front fascia. Renault’s new logo might also debut with the updated Kiger and Triber. Dimensionally, both SUVs are expected to remain unchanged. The Kiger measures 3,991mm in length, 1,750mm in width, and 1,605mm in height. The Triber, on the other hand, is 3,990mm long, 1,739mm wide, and 1,643mm tall. The updated model lineup could also receive new colour options.
The interiors of both models will certainly be more upmarket than their current versions. Some upgrades could be inspired by the new Nissan Magnite facelift that went on sale last year. The new Kiger and Triber are expected to come with a new interior theme, along with a slightly revised dashboard, new seat upholstery, and door pads. The rest of the features will be carried forward from the current versions.
Mechanically, the updated Kiger and Triber will be similar to their current versions. Both SUVs are available with two engine options – a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol – delivering a claimed power output of 72bhp and 100bhp, respectively. A 5-speed manual gearbox will continue to be standard across the model lineup. The naturally aspirated petrol motor will also be available with a 5-speed AMT transmission option, while the turbo petrol unit will get a 5-step CVT automatic gearbox. The higher turbo-petrol variants will come with three drive modes – Normal, Eco, and Sport.
