Tata Motors will launch the Sierra lifestyle SUV in the country during festive season, around October-November. In fact, testing of both ICE and EV versions have already been commenced. A new design patent of the production-spec Tata Sierra's dashboard reveal key details of the new Sierra interior.
Tata Motors had showcased the close-to-production Sierra ICE at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The lifestyle SUV had triple screen setup, including a touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument console and a display for a co-occupant. Interestingly, the third passenger-side screen is missing in the dashboard design patent.
The SUV's dashboard design appears simple yet functional in nature. It features sleek AC vents, 4-spoke steering wheel, a single free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a display for the instrumentation. These features looks similar to the one offered on the existing Tata SUVs including Harrier, Safari and Curvv. There is a push start-stop button on the right side of the steering wheel and a rotator knob placed right below it.
This could be the dashboard design patent of the lower variants, and the triple screen setup could be offered on the top-spec model. We expect the new Sierra to get features like wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, dual-zone climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting and others. In terms of safety and security, the new Sierra will have 7-airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, LEVEL 2 ADAS, front and rear parking sensors and others.
The Tata Sierra will be offered with both ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV versions. The ICE version will come with two engine options - a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre or a 2.0L turbo diesel. The new Sierra could be the first model to get Tata's new 1.5L T-GDI petrol engine, which is capable of producing 167bhp and 280Nm of torque.
The diesel version is likely to get the 2.0L turbo unit that produces 167bhp and 350Nm of torque. Tata could use the 1.5L turbo diesel engine to power the entry-level variant, which also powers the Nexon and Curvv. This engine produces 116bhp and 260Nm of torque. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
