Last year, Renault-Nissan announced their plan to roll out six new products for the Indian market including A-segment electric cars, 5 and 7-seater SUVs. These upcoming models, with an allocated investment of Rs 5,300 crore, will be shared between both OEMs.
Renault India will also give a much-needed update to the Kiger subcompact SUV and Triber compact MPV this year. The third-generation Duster will make its way to India sometime next year. So, we will have three new and updated products from Renault by 2027.
Let’s delve into key details of these upcoming Renault cars.
The Kiger sub-4 metre SUV is set to undergo a major update in the second half of 2025. Comprehensive changes are expected to be made on the exterior. The carmaker might also introduce its new logo with the updated Kiger. The interior is likely to be more upmarket, featuring soft-touch materials, new cabin theme, revised dashboard design and a bunch of features. The engine setup is likely to remain unchanged. The 2025 Renault Kiger facelift will continue to use the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines.
Similarly, the 2025 Renault Triber facelift will receive significant changes inside and out, while retaining the existing engine. This compact MPV is already packed with features such as a digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, keyless entry, AC vents in all three rows, power windows, push button start/stop, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, and more. Under the hood, the updated Triber will house the same 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This motor pushes out a maximum power of 72bhp and 96Nm of torque.
Renault is betting big on the new-generation Duster, which will hit showrooms in 2026. The carmaker will also introduce a three-row version of the new Duster, but at a later stage. The SUV is reported to come with the 156bhp, 1.3L HR13 turbo petrol and Kiger’s 1.0L turbo petrol engine options. The lower variants could get the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine. The design and styling of the new Renault Duster will be heavily inspired by the Dacia Bigster SUV.
Inside, the new Duster will get a 10.1-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 6-speaker Arkamys 3D sound system, wireless phone charging, multiple airbags, etc. With the generation shift, the Duster will also get the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.
