Skoda Auto India unveiled the Enyaq, its all-electric SUV, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The new electric SUV shared the stage with various Volkswagen Group models, including the Porsche Taycan, Lamborghini Revuelto, and select Skoda-VW India 2.0 vehicles.
Introduced worldwide in 2020, the Enyaq has been spotted undergoing testing in India several times in recent years. Both the SUV and its Coupe variant received a significant upgrade in global markets towards the end of last year. The SUV, in particular, received improvements in its powertrain options, featuring increased power, extended range, and enhanced fast charging capabilities.
Embracing Skoda's family design language, the Enyaq features sleek surfaces, distinct body lines, and the iconic Skoda Butterfly grille. Inside the cabin, there is a heightened emphasis on digitization, highlighted by a large touchscreen in the center, a digital instrument cluster, and a dashboard adorned with minimal physical buttons.
In global markets, the Enyaq offers a range of all-electric powertrain choices. The entry-level Enyaq 60 features a 58 kWh battery pack mated to a single motor. Combined they produce a maximum power output of 177 bhp with 310 Nm of peak torque.
The lineup further includes the more potent Enyaq 85 available in rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configuration. It is capable of delivering 281 bhp out of a 77 kWh battery pack.
The range-topping RS model stands out as it makes 335 bhp and 545 Nm torque. Depending on the variant, the electric SUV provides a range of up to 562 kms (WLTP).
For the Indian market, Skoda is anticipated to launch the Enyaq in the coming months. The model is expected to debut in its Enyaq 85 specification, likely presented in a single, range-topping variant.
