Czech automaker Skoda has launched the Kushaq anniversary edition at Rs 15.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 1.0 Style variant, while the 1.5 Style model is priced at Rs 19.09 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kushaq arrived last year and quickly become a best-seller for the brand and now has received a full 5-star safety rating at the GNCAP along with the VW Taigun.
To differentiate it from the standard variants, the Skoda Kushaq Anniversary edition gets new badges on the C-pillar and the steering wheel. Other differences include new contrast stitching, door-edge protectors, and a chrome applique running the length of the door.
Skoda has also brought back the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the new model. Based on the top-spec Style trim, the Anniversary Edition retains all the creature comforts like a sunroof, auto climate control, rain-sensing wipers and more.
The Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition is available with two powertrain choices, both petrol. The first is the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol making 115 PS and 175 Nm and the other is the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol making 150 bhp and 250 Nm. The later comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, while the former is offered with a 7-speed DSG only.
Prices for the Skoda Kushaq range from Rs 11.29 lakh – Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Rivals for the SUV include the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Volkswagen Taigun, Nissan Kicks, and the recently launched Toyota Hyrdyer and Maruti Grand Vitara.
