Maruti Suzuki is making its way to the electric segment with the launch of the much-awaited eVX electric SUV. This electric SUV is scheduled to be launched in our market in the first half of 2025. Not just electric SUV, the company is also working on an electric MPV and an electric hatchback. In fact, MSIL has filed a design patent for the eWX electric hatchback in India.
For people not in the know, the Suzuki eWX electric hatchback was first showcased at the 2024 Bangkok Motor Show. This model will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Tiago EV and the MG Comet EV in the entry-level hatchback EV segment.
The Suzuki eWX concept measures 3,395 mm in length, 1475 mm in width, and 1620 mm in height. Similar to the Suzuki WagonR, the Suzuki eWX electric hatchback has a tallboy appearance. Some of its exterior design features include rectangular LED lighting elements, vertically stacked ice cube LED headlamps, and thick body cladding. It also has neon yellow highlights and eye-catching accents on its front bumper.
The rounded rectangular design continues to carry on inside. Even the steering wheel has a rounded squarish design. Besides, the dashboard features horizontally positioned displays for infotainment and instrument while the control hub is positioned between the front seats.
The launch of the eWX in India is yet to be revealed. Till now, only the design patent has been submitted in India. It is said that the eWX could come into the country by 2026-27. Before this, the eVX will make its entry into the Indian market by 2025.
