Tata Motors has recently started accepting bookings for the upcoming Curvv ICE and Curvv EV at the token amount of Rs 11,000. Ahead of its price announcement on August 7, the Coupe SUV is expected to be unveiled on July 19, 2024.
Tata Curvv will be the first mass-market coupe SUV in India. Its design is truly inspired by the popular Nexon, Safari, and Harrier. While the ICE model will feature a split headlamp setup with the connected LED DRL, the electric variant will have a closed-off grille design. Other exterior features include black cladding, an aggressive front bumper, a unique design for alloy wheels, flush fitting door handle, and wraparound LED tail lights.
Internally, it will receive the same cabin layout offered by Tata Nexon. However, the Curvv is likely to get a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated brand logo, instead of Nexon's 2-spoke unit.
Other amenities include a 12.3-inch touchscreen unit, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, and a powered driver's seat. On the safety front, it is expected to offer six airbags, front & rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring ESC, and Level 2 ADAS.
The ICE-powered Curvv is likely to take power from a 1.2-litre turbo petrol (123 bhp/225 Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel (113 bhp/260Nm). Transmission options include a standard 6-speed manual and an optional DCT gearbox.
Meanwhile, its Curvv EV too is expected to get two battery packs with an expected range of over 500 km. Besides, it will get Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality as seen with the Tata Nexon EV.
The Tata Curvv ICE version will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Honda Elevate and MG Astor. On the other hand, the Curvv EV will challenge the Mahindra XUV400 and the upcoming EVs like the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX and Honda Elevate EV.
