Tata Motors has finally launched its first electric SUV coupe - the Curvv EV in India. It is available in five trims - Creative, Accomplished, Accomplished +S, Empowered+, and Empowered +A. The price for the base model stands at Rs 17.49 lakh, going up to Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec model. The ICE-powered Curvv was also showcased alongside its electric avatar, however, Tata will announce the price of the ICE model in September 2024.
The Curvv is available in two versions - ICE and Electric. Visually, both avatars look similar except for exterior design elements.
The ICE-powered Curvv features a sporty front grille, LED headlights, DRLs (at front and rear), sharp body lines, dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, and more. Feature-wise, it comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, digital driver's display, and panoramic sunroof.
The electric variant of the Curvv has a design feature similar to that of its ICE version. However, the front end is different. It gets a closed-off grille, a hands-free tailgate, and a unique design for the wheels. In terms of features, it gets a touch-based panel for climate control, a four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with an illuminated brand logo, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a rotary drive selector, a gear lever, a six-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, a leatherette upholstery, and wireless charging pad.
The Curvv comes loaded with safety features such as six airbags, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, all 4 disc brakes, brake with auto hold function, electronic parking brake, ESP, traction, and ABS with EBD.
Tata has also offered Level 2 ADAS on Curvv SUV coupe. The kit includes features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision, autonomous emergency braking, high beam assist, blind spot detection, and more.
The Curvv EV comes with a 45 kWh and a 55 kWh battery pack, offering a certified range of over 502 km and 585 km, respectively on a single charge. Meanwhile its ICE-powered model offers petrol and diesel engine choices. The 1.2-litre GDi turbo petrol can generate the power of 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel unit can produce 117 bhp with 260 Nm of torque. The lower variant gets a Nexon's sourced 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, delivering 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque.
