Tata Motors is preparing to launch the highly-anticipated Curvv in the Indian market. This SUV coupe will come in both ICE and electric variants. Since this will be a unique offering from the brand, expect the vehicle to come equipped with a range of upmarket features. Latest spy shots have already given us an idea of what we can expect from Tata Curvv.
The upcoming Curvv is likely to come with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, same as the Nexon EV. A four-spoke steering wheel is likely to be on offer, also seen on the Harrier.
Apart from this, expect the Curvv to offer features that are usually seen on larger SUVs. Some of these might include ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-way powered driver's seat with memory & welcome function, a dual-zone climate control system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, switchable ambient lighting, and height adjustable front seat belts.
It is said that a full suite of ADAS is likely to be on offer, like Tata Safari and Harrier. Other notable features include a gesture-controlled boot opening, flush-fitting door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels, and an electronic parking brake.
As mentioned earlier, the Curvv will offer petrol, diesel and electric variants. The petrol Curvv will make its debut with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder TGDi engine. Mated with manual and automatic gearbox options, this engine is expected to produce 123 bhp of power and 223 Nm of torque. While the diesel variant is likely to borrow a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine from the Nexon.
The Tata Curvv EV will be designed and developed on the brand’s Acti.ev architecture, which also underpins the Punch EV. The platform is scalable and versatile enough to accommodate differently-sized vehicles including SUVs and hatchbacks. It is expected to be equipped with a battery pack of over 50kWh, which is likely to offer a range of around 500km on a single charge.
It is said that the Curvv EV will arrive first by this festive season while its petrol and diesel variants are likely to go on sale by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
