After the successful launch of Tata Harrier EV, the brand is super exciting for the new plan! In a major announcement at its recent Investor Meet, Tata Motors confirmed its plan to introduce seven all-new nameplates by the financial year 2030. Out of the seven, four will be all-electric vehicles (EVs), while the remaining three will feature internal combustion engines (ICE).
Let’s quickly dive into more details!
One of the most anticipated launches from this lineup is the return of the Tata Sierra. First revealed in its concept form at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Sierra has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. It is expected to debut later this year, initially in ICE form followed by an EV variant. With its retro-modern design and legacy value, the Sierra is all set to become a strong contender in the midsize SUV segment.
Tata is also preparing to launch its first models under the Avinya sub-brand, focusing on high-end electric mobility. The Avinya and Avinya X will be positioned as premium EVs. These models will showcase futuristic designs, high technology, and a unique SUV-coupe silhouette. The concept versions have already generated buzz after being showcased at the Auto Expo 2025.
Besides the Sierra and Avinya models, Tata Motors will also introduce two brand-new ICE vehicles and two new electric cars by FY2030. While specific details about these models are still under wraps, they are expected to span multiple segments and meet the growing demand across urban and rural India.
Tata Motors isn't only focused on new nameplates. The brand has also announced a detailed update plan involving 23 facelifts and refreshes for its current portfolio. Models such as the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier, Safari, and Altroz—along with their electric counterparts—will see facelifts, MY (model year) updates, and special editions.
Among the more technical updates, Tata Motors has confirmed a new powertrain for the ICE versions of the Harrier and Safari. These popular SUVs will receive a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol engine by FY2026, offering better performance and efficiency.
