Tata Motors To Launch Revamped SUV Line-Up Before The End Of 2023

Tata Motors is gearing up for a busy festive season. The automaker is expected to overhaul its SUV lineup with new and updated models. Latest reports suggest that Tata cars may launch up to six brand-new or facelifted SUVs by the end of 2023.

PB Balaji, Tata Motors Group CFO, said in a post-Q1 earnings call, "From now onwards, the launch cycle is kicking in and we will be going full blast with a series of new launches. We have further ammunition to grow. We will start batting now and we are quite confident."

Tata Motors: Six New Launches Coming

TaTa Punch CNG

The first SUV to arrive will be the Tata Punch CNG, slated to go on sale by August first week. It will directly rival the recently launched Hyundai Exter CNG. However, unlike the Hyundai, the 2023 Punch will feature Tata’s patented dual-cylinder technology that frees up boot space.

Tata Harrier Facelift

Following the all-new Punch CNG we expect the automaker to launch the Harrier and Safari facelifts. Both SUVs will feature an updated exterior with refreshed front and rear ends along with new alloy wheels. The interior will be upgraded as well with a bigger infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. It will also get a new steering wheel, stubbier gear lever, and rotary drive selector.

Tata Nexon Facelift

Other models expected to be in contention include the Nexon facelift, one of Tata’s best-selling models in India. Like the Safari and Harrier, the Nexon too will get a redesigned exterior with styling elements inspired by the Curvv SUV concept. The interior is expected to get more premium materials as well as more features like a new infotainment screen, steering wheel, and new switchgear. Tata will likely launch the facelifted Nexon petrol, diesel and .EV at the same time, with the latter getting a slightly altered front end to differentiate the models.

The last model to be launched is rumoured to be the Punch .EV. The pure-electric model will look mostly similar to its ICE counterpart but may get small styling tweaks and a new alloy wheel design to help it look different. It will also have an identical interior to the ICE models.
