As per the latest media reports, Tata Motors is going to offer ADAS-tech on the upcoming Nexon Facelift. The automaker had introduced this feature on the recently launched Tata Safari and Harrier Red Dark Editions. This will likely make the subcompact SUV the most affordable vehicle in India to be offered with ADAS. Additionally, spy shots of the Tata Nexon Facelift suggest it will feature a redesigned exterior and get an updated interior. We take a closer look.
Tata is very likely to offer ADAS-Tech on the facelifted version of the Nexon. This includes equipment like Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
The Nexon Facelift will also get an upgraded interior with added features and creature comforts. It is expected to offer a new 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, two-spoke steering wheel, sunroof, wireless charging, auto climate control, ambient lighting, a premium audio setup, and more.
Recently, the facelift was spied testing on India roads. As per the leaked images online, the test mule under camouflage seems to retain its overall profile. What seems to have changed is its front and rear look. The front-end of the Nexon Facelift is expected to offer a split headlight setup with an LED strip running across the bonnet. This design element is similar to the Curvv EV Concept shown at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023. Talking about the bootlid, it seems to have been raised featuring a new set of taillights that are likely to be connected by an LED light bar.
The updated Nexon will continue to offer both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel motor that makes 114 bhp with 260 Nm of peak torque from the current model will be retained. On the petrol side however, Tata may introduce the new 1.2-litre TGDi engine that pumps out 125 bhp with 225 Nm of peak torque on the facelifted SUV. Transmission choices could include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT, and a new 7-speed DCT.
The Nexon Facelift launch date would be set around mid-2024. It will rival the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and the Kia Sonet in its segment.
