Just days after unveiling the Tata Nexon facelift, Tata Motors is back with the Tata Nexon.ev facelift. Similar to the ICE version, the new Nexon.ev features significant changes to the exterior design and the interior layout making it a more aspiring package.
On the outside, the new Tata Nexon.ev features a sportier bumper along with new LED light guide. Lower down we get to see sharp air intakes along with new housing for the LED headlamp on the bumper. Other new elements on the eSUV include a brand new Empowered Oxide colour and the lowest resistance tyres which help increasing range.
Excluding that, the Nexon.ev shares most of its design elements with the ICE counterpart but is made to be more aerodynamic adding to 2-percent in range improvement.
Moving inside, the new 2023 Tata Nexon.ev features an all-new layout that is dominated by a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Other key highlights include 10.3-inch digital drivers display with multiple customisation, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, sunroof, 9 speaker JBL system and more.
In addition, Tata Motors has also taken the Tesla route to infotainment system, offering Arcade.ev. This dedicated app store helps customers download and stream movies from their favourite OTT platforms directly on the infotainment screen while waiting for their EVs to get charged.
Powering the all-new Tata Nexon.ev is a 40.5kWh battery pack that is rated for 142 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque.The new model also come equipped with the new Gen II motor setup that is 20 kg lighter and includes stronger regeneration for added efficiency. These updates help increase the total range of the electric SUV to 465 km and 325 km on the long range and medium range models respectively.
Additionally, the improvements to the powertrain system have also made the new Tata Nexon EV faster helping the EV complete the 0-100 kmph sprint in under 8.9 seconds before reaching a top-speed of 150 kmph.
In terms of safety tech, the new Tata Nexon.ev will come with ABS with EBD, ESP, 6-airbags, all-disk brake and seat belt reminder for all seats as standard. In addition, select variants will also feature 360-degree surround sound monitor with 4 cameras and 4 sensors, panic brake alert, i-TPMS, hill descent control, hill ascent assist and auto hold.
Like its ICE counterpart, the new Tata Nexon.ev will be offered in 3 Persona’s: Empowered, Creative and Fearless. All Personas come with their own UI/UX elements and hero colours.
The base (Creative) persona features the Creative Ocean hero colour while the mid (Fearless) persona features Fearless Purple colour. On the top-spec, Empowered persona customers can choose from 5 colour option including Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Flame Red, Intensi-Teal and the Empowered Oxide hero colour.
Bookings for the 2023 Tata Nexon.ev starts from 8 am on 9 September (World EV day) while the price reveal is set to happen on 14 September 2023.
Volkswagen Golf GTI will be launched in the country in May 2025 as a completely built-up unit (CBU) - to come in 4 exterior colour choices.
