Tata Motors will launch seven new cars in 2025, strengthening its presence in the Indian automotive market. The lineup includes electric vehicles, facelifts of popular models, and the much-awaited revival of the iconic Sierra as an EV and ICE iteration. Here's a detailed preview of what's in the offing.
The Harrier EV is to be rolled out by Tata by January 2025. Just an electric version of the trendy Harrier SUV with an aggressive stance sporting a closed grille, light bar LED, and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels, for sure. The cabin is meant to reek of luxury with a high-class 12.3-inch infotainment system ventilated seats sunroof accompanied by mood lighting and wireless charging.
The performance aspect of the Harrier EV would feature a 60-80 kWh battery with more than 500km range. It would bring in the dual-motor all-wheel drive, V2L technology through a vehicle-to-load, along with fast charging. The exterior design would be milled on the OMEGA Arc platform. It will offer seven airbags, ADAS, and a 360-degree camera taken care of. Expected to be priced between Rs. 24 – Rs. 30 lakh ex-showroom, Harrier will compete with Mahindra XUV.e8, Maruti e Vitara, and Hyundai Kona Electric.
The Safari EV will hit roads in April 2025. It is going to be feature-wise almost at par with Harrier EV. It will carry dual-zone AC, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an infotainment system with a large touchscreen display. This will have a range of around 500 km, but other detailed specifications are yet to be announced.
It will come standard with seven airbags, ESC, ADAS, and a 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitoring. In terms of price, the Safari EV will be a costlier variant of the Harrier EV and is bound to be priced from Rs. 32 lakh, ex-showroom. Competition will be coming from the likes of the MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, and Hyundai Kona Electric.
The Sierra SUV sees much pomp, especially in this new age. The Sierra EV will come out towards the end of 2025. Based on Tata’s Acti.ev platform, it would support fast charging up to 150 kW and will offer an alluring range of up to 500 km. It could also offer 2WD, standard on all options, and double motor AWD if in case of the higher trims. The Sierra would be full of both nostalgia and modernity with its flaunting black roof rails, sharp creases, and LED full-width taillamps. The ex-showroom price will be at Rs. 28 lakh for EV.
After two months, the ICE version of the Sierra is going to be available. The car will be based on the ATLAS platform and both petrol and diesel variants are going to come. In the petrol variant, Tata's 1.5-litre turbocharged engine will come, which will churn out 168 bhp. The strong 2.0-litre engine is going to be present in the diesel variant. Both the variants are going to be present, one with manual transmission and the other with automatic transmission.
Sporty elements will feature in the design for the 2025 Tata Tiago facelift, which will see new, fresh bumpers, sharper LED lights, and new alloy wheels. The upholstery will improve while the touchscreen infotainment system will be larger with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Connected car technology and automatic climate control may be added to that list, too. That should keep the Tata on par with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Maruti Swift.
The Tigor compact sedan will also receive a facelift in 2025. It will sport new bumpers, a refreshed grille, and slimmer LED headlamps. The updated interior will feature fresh upholstery, a bigger touchscreen, and perhaps dual-tone trims. Enhanced connected car features and safety add-ons are in the pipeline. This will make the Tigor facelift fight the Honda Amaze and Maruti Dzire in the same arena of modernized design and features.
The Tata Altroz EV is expected to arrive in mid-2025. It would come with a 129 PS motor, a 30.2 kWh battery pack, and an electric-only range of 312 km. It should be capable of 80 percent charge within an hour via fast charging. Design-wise, the Tata Altroz EV would sport a shut grille and band lue accents. It would likely appeal to eco-conscious premium hatchback buyers, and with the estimated price of Rs. 14 lakh, it would debut on the inside with more screens, ambient lighting, and rich interior trim.
