Following the launch of the updated Innova Crysta a few months ago, Toyota Kirloskar Motors has now launched the top-end variants of the MPV in the country. The Japanese automaker is accepting bookings for the higher trims at a token amount of Rs 50,000. We take a closer look.
The New Innova Crysta gets two new top variants, VX and ZX. This brings the total available trim options to four. Prices for the Toyota Innova Crysta VX range from Rs 23.79 lakh to Rs 23.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle is available for both private and fleet buyers. As for the flagship ZX variant, which is available only for private buyers, it is priced at Rs 25.43 lakh (ex-showroom).
The premium MPV comes packed with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support, a semi-digital instrument cluster, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, multi-zone climate control, leather upholstery, seat back tables, a smart entry system, ambient lighting, and more.
In terms of safety features, it gets 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and 3-point seatbelts with adjustable headrests for all passengers.
Toyota offers the updated Innova Crysta with a single diesel engine option. It is a 2.4-litre turbo diesel motor that makes 150 bhp with 343 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the sole transmission choice.
The manufacturer had intended to stop production of the Innova Crysta following the launch of the New Innova Hycross. However, the global semiconductor shortage means the Hycross is facing production issues. Paired with the considerable demand still for the Crysta, Toyota has decided to continue production of the MPV for the foreseeable future.
