Mahindra has recently announced the prices of the base variants of its two Born electric SUVs called the Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e. Full price list of both electric vehicles will be released in the month of January/February, while deliveries will commence by March next year. Not just these two models, Mahindra will increase the BORN EV range by introducing multiple new cars in the category.
Let's talk about the upcoming Born electric Mahindra electric SUVs that will be launched in our market in next couple of years.
Mahindra has only released the base variant prices of both these EVs, called the Pack 1. The XEV 9e Pack 1 costs Rs 21.90 lakh, while the BE 6e Pack 1 is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The full price list for both electric SUVs will be revealed during their public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025.
Both EVs are offered with two battery pack options - 59kWh and 79kWh. A rear-wheel-drive setup comes as standard. The smaller battery pack delivers a claimed output of 228bhp, while the larger battery offers 281bhp. Both variants produce 380Nm of torque. While the BE 6e is claimed to offer a certified range of up to 682km on the MIDC cycle, the XEV 9e returns a range of up to 656km on a single charge.
The company will introduce the production version of the XUV.e8 concept in 2025. To be called the Mahindra XEV 7e, the new electric SUV will be the third INGLO based and is basically the 7-seater version of the XEV 9e. It will be more practical 3-row electric SUV compared to the stylish-looking XEV 9e and BE 6e. The e-SUV will appear identical to the XUV 700 on sale in our market. It will be offered with the same set of battery packs including 59kWh and 79kWh - with a rear-wheel-drive setup as standard. It will also get a dual-motor AWD system. Expect a claimed range of around 600km with a bigger battery pack.
Mahindra had showcased the BE.07 and BE.09 concept EVs alongside the XUV.e8, XUV.e9 and BE.05 concepts in 2022-23. Similar to the XEV range, all BE range SUVs will enter the production. The BE.07 and BE.09 will also be launched as pure electric SUVs based on the INGLO architecture. It will be a traditional 5-seater electric SUV and will sit right between the BE 6e and XEV 7e. Similarly, the BE.09 will be the brand's flagship electric model. Both will use the same battery packs as the XEV 9e and BE 6e.
