India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Earlier this year, Renault announced its ambitious plan to expand its Indian product portfolio with five new models by 2027. All these models will fall under the brand’s new Renaulution 2024 strategy. The upcoming range includes the third-generation Duster, a Duster-based 7-seater SUV, an electric midsize SUV, and the new-generation Triber and Kiger. Let’s take a look at the key details of these upcoming Renault cars.
The third-generation Duster is certainly one of the most-awaited upcoming Renault cars next year. Comprehensive changes will be made to its exterior and interior. Compared to its predecessor, the new model will feature a more premium and feature-packed interior. The SUV is likely to come equipped with ADAS technology along with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, a circular dial for a 4WD selector, multiple airbags, and more. The 2025 Renault Duster is expected to be offered with a petrol engine only. Its global-spec model is available with three different powertrains – mild hybrid, strong hybrid, and LPG.
In October 2024, Dacia unveiled the Bigster three-row SUV in its production form, which is essentially the 7-seater version of the new Renault Duster. This SUV is expected to make its way to India toward the end of 2025. With rivals like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and Hyundai Alcazar in its sights, the new Renault 7-seater SUV is expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh onwards. Engine details are not available at this time, but it is expected to share its powertrains with its 5-seater sibling. Similar to the Bigster, Renault’s SUV could be equipped with features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, an ADAS suite, and more.
Initially, Renault announced plans to introduce an entry-level A-segment electric vehicle – the Kwid EV. However, the company has dropped this plan and is reportedly working on a midsize electric SUV based on the CMF-B EV platform. This architecture is essentially a modified version of the standard CMF-B platform, adapted to support an electric powertrain. The upcoming Renault electric SUV will compete against the Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti e Vitara, with an estimated price range of Rs 15 lakh – Rs 20 lakh. The company might use an LFP battery for its new EV, offering a range of around 300 km on a full charge.
The next-generation Renault Triber and Kiger are among the most-awaited upcoming Renault cars in India. The official launch timeline and details of these models are yet to be revealed. However, both UVs are expected to undergo significant changes inside and out. To enhance product value, the carmaker might equip the vehicles with several new features. However, the engine setup is likely to remain unchanged.
