The Vietnamese EV maker, VinFast has submitted a patent application for the VF3 in India. This micro-electric SUV made its global debut at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas just a few weeks ago. While a patent application alone does not ensure a market release, it signals VinFast's intentions for the Indian market.
The VinFast VF3 electric SUV is an ultra-compact, battery-powered vehicle. In terms of dimensions, it measures 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height. Compared to the Comet EV, it is slightly longer and wider (2,974mm x 1,505mm x 1,640mm). However, it is a bit smaller than Tata Tiago EV which measures 3,769mm x 1,677mm x 1,636mm.
Despite its compact size, the VF3 exhibits a tall and boxy appearance. It boasts a two-door layout highlighted by robust front and rear bumpers and flared wheel arches in black.
Additionally, the rectangular headlights are positioned within a blacked-out radiator grille, with the company logo prominently displayed. Besides, it runs on 16-inch gloss black steel wheels.
Talking about the features, the VF3 will provide a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Further, it will offer a two-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, and more.
Although there are no details revealed for the powertrain option, it is likely to offer a range of up to 200 kms on a single charge. Moreover, it will be available with two trims; Eco and Plus with a single electric motor configuration.
During the Las Vegas event, the electric vehicle manufacturer announced its plans to commence early reservation acceptance shortly. It also revealed that specifics about reservations, delivery, pricing, and warranty for each market will be revealed in the coming days.
