VinFast, the globally renowned electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer from Vietnam, is all set to begin its operations in the Indian market. The carmaker kick-started its journey by showcasing its global product lineup at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. One of the major highlights of VinFast’s display was the VF 7 electric SUV, which is already on sale in select global markets, including the Philippines.
Let’s take a closer look at the key details of the VinFast VF 7 electric SUV.
The VF 7 electric SUV targets young professionals and family car buyers with its modern design and practical interior. The model lineup is available in two trims – Eco and Plus – both equipped with a 75.3kWh battery pack. The Eco trim features a single electric motor with a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system, delivering a maximum power of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. The Plus trim, on the other hand, comes with a more powerful setup featuring an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Its power and torque figures stand at 348bhp and 500Nm, respectively.
The VF 7 Eco and Plus trims offer a WLTP-certified range of up to 450km (Eco) and 431km (Plus). This VinFast electric SUV supports Level 2 AC charging and Level 3 DC fast charging. With an 11kW onboard charger, it can add approximately 31 miles of range per hour. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 70 percent in just 55 minutes. The EV has an electronically limited top speed of 175kmph and offers multiple driving modes.
The VF 7 is one of the most feature-packed EVs offered by the Vietnamese manufacturer. It comes with an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite that includes advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, Level 2 highway assist, driver drowsiness detection, lane-keeping assist, blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking, and more.
Other notable features include a large infotainment system, OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, an aggressive-looking A-wing front apron, flush door handles, smooth body panels, and signature front and rear light bars with LED effects. In global markets, the VinFast VF 7 is available in five color options: Neptune Grey, Jet Black, Brahminy White, Deep Ocean, and Crimson Red.
In India, the new VinFast electric SUV will compete with EVs such as the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo C40 Recharge, and BYD Seal. Its prices are expected to fall within the range of Rs 60 lakh – Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom).
