Volkswagen cars has launched the new Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition in the country with a starting price of Rs 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The GT Edge Trail Edition will be available in limited numbers only. Deliveries for the new special edition will commence in December 2023.
The new Taigun features a rugged appearance with its functional roof rails, body decals, and blackout-out 17-inch alloy wheels. For the exterior paint option, Volkswagen has provided Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte for the Trail Edition.
On the inside, the GT Edge Trail edition comes equipped with new black set upholstery finished with red stitching. In addition, it also comes provided with 'Trail' carved on the seat's backrest, aluminium pedals and red ambient lighting.
In terms of features, the car is loaded with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other features include a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, electric sunroof and powered/ventilated front seats.
The newly-launched Taigun is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is compliant with BS6 Phase 2 and can produce 148 bhp of power with 250 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic unit.
