Volkswagen India has recently discontinued the Tiguan SUV and revealed the all-new Tiguan R Line, which is the sportier version of the standard model. The brand will launch the Tiguan R-Line SUV on April 14. Bookings are currently open across the country.
Ahead of its CBU arrival, Volkswagen has claimed that the Tiguan R-Line will be a stylish and comfortable SUV. As a flagship model, it will feature a bold ‘R’ design and a modern look. With premium comfort and high-quality details, it will reflect the brand’s signature style, making it both eye-catching and sophisticated.

While the standard Tiguan offered a conservative and family-friendly exterior design, the all-new Tiguan R-Line will boast a fresh and bold design.
Based on the revealed images by the brand, the front fascia of Tiguan R Line features LED Plus headlights and a sleek glass-covered horizontal strip. The wide radiator grille openings on the bumper help improve airflow.
From the side, the Tiguan R-Line looks sporty with a strong shoulder line and rounded wheel arches. It rides on 19-inch "Coventry" alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish.
At the back, a new horizontal LED strip adds to the sharp and modern design, making the Tiguan R-Line look even more distinctive on the road.
Adding to the premium design, the all-new Tiguan R-Line features an illuminated moulding between headlamps, rear combination lamps and illuminated door handle recesses, pedals in brushed stainless steel, surround lighting with welcome light, bumpers in sports style, air intake with chrome trim, silver-anodized roof rails and much more.
The all-new Volkswagen Tiguan R Line will be available in six colour choices. These include Persimmon Red Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White with Mother of Pearl Effect & Oyster Silver Metallic.
New Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line features a premium interior with high-quality materials and a modern design. The front sport seats have ‘R-Line’ inserts, and the dashboard includes an illuminated ‘R’ logo. Even the cockpit is designed for ease of use, with conveniently placed controls.
The Tiguan R-Line offers ambient lighting with 30 color options and a panoramic sunroof that allows natural light into the cabin.
Furthermore, the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line is packed with top-class features such as seats with a massage function and adjustable lumbar support.
For added convenience, the SUV includes a 3-zone Air Care Climatronic system for perfect cabin temperature control. Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control makes parking effortless, while inductive charging for two smartphones keeps your devices powered up on the go.
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 201 bhp and 320 Nm. It will be paired with a dual-clutch transmission and VW’s 4 Motion all-wheel drive system.
The discontinued Tiguan had a price tag of Rs 38.17 lakh (ex-showroom). Since the R-Line model will have more aggressive styling, plush interior, and top-notch features, the brand might price it a bit higher, somewhere around Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom).
The price announcement will be made on April 14. Till then, stay tuned with us!
