New Car Buying Platform
Swedish luxury car brand Volvo confirmed the launch of its smallest EX30 electric vehicle for India next year. Following the EX30, Volvo plans to introduce one new EV model every year under its plans to go all-electric by 2030. Volvo’s contemporary electric lineup comprises the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge, contributing 25% of the manufacturer's overall sales.
"[EX30] is our most sustainable car ever, if you look at the CO2 footprint, it's significantly lower than other cars. Of course, price is one thing but I think it will appeal to those who are environmentally conscious," Volvo’s Martin Persson said while speaking to the media.
Abroad, the EX90-inspired EX30 is offered with two battery types - a 51 kWh LFP cell (344 km claimed range) and 69 kWh NMC unit (480 km WLTP cycle).
“I'm sure the EX30 will help us expand further, It's a new segment that we're going to enter with this car,” Volvo India MD Jyoti Malhotra stated. Since entering the EV segment in 2022, it recently surpassed the 1,000 vehicle milestone. In CY 2023, Volvo recorded a 31% jump at 2,423 cars compared to 1,851 cars sold the previous year.
