Volvo cars today completed the final assembly and roll-out of its first all-electric luxury SUV, the XC40 Recharge. Launched almost 3 months ago, the SUV has manged to grab eyeballs with its more than sufficient specs and simplistic design. The brand has already managed to sell out all its allocation for 2022.
Talking about the roll-out, Jyoti Malhotra - Managing Director, Volvo Car India, said, “We had in May this year announced that we would commence local assembly of our all electric offering the XC40 Recharge and today we witnessed the first car rolling off the assembly line at our Hoskote plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka. Historic as this is, today’s event further strengthens our commitment of offering the Indian market a new electric model every year. The rollout is also a step in the right direction towards our goal of becoming an all-electric company by 2030.”

The all-new XC40 Recharge is powered by a 78-kWh battery pack paired to a 150 kW electric motors mounted on both axles giving the car AWD capabilities. The total claimed range of the EV is rated at 418 kilometres on a single charge. The XC40 Recharge is available in only one variant at an introductory price of Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the new model are set to start in the coming days.
