The Basalt Coupe SUV appears smaller than the upcoming Tata Curvv. Dimension-wise, the Citroen’s coupe SUV measures 4352 mm in length, 1765 in width, and 1593 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2651 mm. It has a boot space of 470 litres.

Citroen Basalt is powered by two engine options. Its 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine delivers the maximum power of 80 bhp with 115 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine choice offers a fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl (claimed).
Another one includes a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that comes with two transmission choices. With the 6-speed manual, it can produce 107 bhp with 190 Nm; with the 6-speed automatic, it delivers 107 bhp with 205 Nm. As for fuel efficiency, the Basalt 1.2L Turbo manual offers 19.5 kmpl, while the automatic version returns 18.7 kmpl.
Citroen will reveal the price of its new coupe SUV at the launch event tomorrow. Though we can expect a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, Basalt will become a direct rival to the Tata Curvv which is also launching on August 7.
