With growing interest in greener vehicles, automakers are now adding more CNG options to their existing car lineups. Two such upcoming models are the Tata Curvv CNG and Nissan Magnite CNG, both set to launch in 2025.
While Tata will offer the Curvv CNG with a factory-fitted turbo engine and twin CNG tanks, Nissan will provide a CNG kit for the Magnite at the dealership level.

Here is a quick look at what to expect from these upcoming CNG SUVs.
Tata Motors is all set to expand the Curvv lineup with the introduction of a CNG variant, which will join the existing petrol, diesel, and electric options.
Expected to launch by mid-2025, just ahead of the festive season, the Tata Curvv CNG will share its platform with the Nexon i-CNG. Plus, it will be the second offering in the brand’s CNG portfolio to feature a turbocharged petrol engine.
Under the hood, it will pack a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with twin CNG cylinder tanks. It will deliver the maximum power of 99 bhp and 170 Nm of torque through a 6-speed manual gearbox.
As for the price, the Curvv CNG is expected to be priced about Rs. 1 lakh higher than its petrol counterpart. It will take on rivals like the Maruti Grand Vitara CNG and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG in the compact SUV coupe segment.
Another upcoming CNG SUV will be from the Nissan brand. It will launch its Magnite CNG SUV by April 2025.
The Magnite CNG will be powered by the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, with the CNG kit offered at the dealership level. Sourced from the Uno Minda Group, the kit will come with a 1-year warranty provided by authorized Nissan dealers, who will also update the vehicle’s RC to reflect the CNG conversion.
While the official power and torque figures are yet to be revealed, the expected mileage would stand between 18 to 22 km/kg.
Currently, the Magnite is available in 18 variants, with prices ranging from Rs. 6.12 lakh to Rs. 11.72 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG kit will cost an additional Rs. 79,500 over the standard petrol variant.
