The Citroen C3 hatchback has been updated recently with new features and can now be opted with automatic transmission, alongside its turbo-petrol engine. In the micro SUV segment, including the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch, the Citroen C3 would find to be very attractive. Citroen has revealed the Indian market's price of the C3 automatic well after a major feature upgrade for the model. The automatic gearbox comes only on the top-spec C3 Shine variant. Here's a head-to-head comparison between the Citroen C3 automatic and its rivals.

Rs. 7.60 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh |
Rs. 8.23 lakh to Rs. 10.43 lakh |
Citroen C3 Automatic ranges from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 10.27 lakh (ex-showroom) and hence is well-placed in the market in terms of price. The top-spec Shine variant brings with it an automatic transmission while introducing a host of premium features for that money.
On the other hand, the Tata Punch automatic has a considerably wider range of prices, starting from Rs. 7.60 lakh and going all the way up to Rs. 10 lakh. The Punch automatic is available in cheaper basic variants; hence, it's extremely attractive for those who are looking to buy a budget-friendly option.
The Hyundai Exter price varies between Rs. 8.23 lakh and Rs. 10.43 lakh (ex-showroom), which is exactly like the C3. The top-end Exter is priced a bit higher than the Punch but overlaps with the Citroen C3's range.

The Citroen C3 automatic is claimed with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which chews out tough 108bhp of power and 205Nm of torque. The C3 comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with just the right amount of pull behind it. This makes it one of the more performance-oriented cars in this bracket. The manual version of the C3 produces slightly lower torque at 195Nm.
By comparison, the Tata Punch automatic has a 1.2-litre Revotron engine churning out 87bhp and 115Nm of torque. Although the punch is low on power compared to the C3, it does provide a smooth city experience through the well-grooved mechanism coupled to a 5-speed AMT gearbox. So, fuel efficiency may be the high point that might attract buyers looking for a reasonably priced piece of machinery.
The Hyundai Exter AMT is equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa engine, where an output value is 81.8bhp, with a torque of 113.8Nm, which is the same as the Tata Punch. Also, the Exter features a 5-speed AMT. Hence, the driving balance matches city commutes along with regular highway usage.
The Citroen C3 automatic is rather loaded with premium features at that price. Some of the key features include projector headlamps, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, and a 7-inch digital driver's display, among several others. The C3 also boasts other car safety features such as 6 airbags and connected car technology via the MyCitroen Connect app, among others.
Tata Punch AMT does not lag in features either, such as a multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, and keyless entry with an engine start/stop button. That said, the infotainment screen is smaller, at 8-inch, and the Punch does without a line of premium tech to progress through the various trims for standard features.
The Hyundai Exter AMT, on the other hand, has a great deal more content within, and that includes a sunroof, wireless phone charging, auto AC, and even a semi-digital driver's display. Hyundai also offers connected car technology, so you also get an 8-inch touchscreen system and even a dash cam with dual cameras in higher variants. The 391-litre boot space in the Hyundai is more generous than that offered by the Citroen C3, which makes it an intelligent choice among family buyers.
