The French automaker, Citroen has added CNG version of the C3 hatchback in the Indian market. The company is offering a dealer-level CNG kit with the Citroen C3 hatchback. The CNG kit costs Rs 93,000 and the C3 CNG is available in 4 variants - Live, Feel, Feel (O) and Shine. The base Citroen C3 CNG is priced at Rs 7.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Citroen C3 CNG price starts at Rs 7.16 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.24 lakh, ex-showroom, India. It directly rivals the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R CNG, Tata Punch CNG and the Hyundai Exter CNG. It is slightly cheaper than the Punch and Exter, while WagonR is the cheapest in the category. Citroen is also offering 3 year/ 1 lakh km warranty on the CNG components.
Lovato is supplying the CNG kits to Citroen India dealerships. Adding to it, the brand’s team is also looking after the installation of CNG kits in the C3 hatchback. The CNG kit has a capacity of 55-litres (water capacity), and Citroen claims that the C3 CNG can achieve 170-200km of range on a full tank.
The CNG kit is available with the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The petrol engine produces 82hp and 115Nm of torque. The company has not revealed the power and torque output figures of the C3 CNG. It is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 28.1 km/kg. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. Citroen engineers have also tuned the rear suspension setup to offer improved ride quality.
