Honda finally unveiled its compact SUV offering in India last month, the Elevate. It is arguably the most important launch from the Japanese brand in a long time and will likely decide if Honda continues to be in the country in the future. Ahead of its launch, leaked documents have revealed the trim levels the Elevate will be offered in. We take a closer look.
Looking at the homologation documents, the Elevate will be offered in four trims. These will include V, SV, Z, and ZX. Below are the features each variant is expected to offer.
The V trim will be Honda Elevate’s entry-level variant. It will provide features like LED projector headlights, auto AC, fabric upholstery, 16-inch steel wheels, LED tail lights, dual-front airbags, and a push-button start/stop.
Next in the lineup would be the SV variant, which gets all the features of the V and adds an 8-inch infotainment system with 4 speakers, Connected Car Tech, steering-mounted controls alongside wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The second-highest trim, the V variant would come equipment with features like roof-rails, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, electrically-folding ORVMs, LED fog lights, 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, 6-speaker audio setup, wireless charger, and a lane watch camera.
The ZX will be the top and most feature-loaded variant. It will provide a bigger 10.25-inch infotainment system, brown leatherette upholstery, eight speaker audio setup, auto dimming day/night rear-view mirror, 6 airbags, and Honda Sensing ADAS Tech.
Honda has also homologated its powertrain in India, confirming that it will be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The naturally aspirated motor is expected to deliver 120 bhp of power with 145 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options here will include a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. Further, the powertrain meets the new BS6 Phase II Emission Norms and is OBD II compliant as well.
The manufacturer is expected to launch the SUV in August, with deliveries commencing from the month after. Expect the four-wheeler to be priced around Rs 11 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Škoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos Facelift, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the MG Astor.
