Less than a year following the launch of the new-generation Tucson, Hyundai India has started working on a facelift model. Spy shots reveal a test mule heavily clad in camouflage. Despite the visual distortion, we can still identify a few changes. Let us take a closer look at what they are.
As you can see in these spy shots, the Hyundai Tucson Facelift’s silhouette is similar to the outgoing model. However, it may get a different front end with a rectangular grille replacing the curved unit. The parametric front grille is now body coloured while elements like the LED DRLs and split headlight setup are the same as the current Tucson. Moving to the side, it remains fairly similar except for new alloy wheel design while the heavily camouflaged rear seems to offer new taillights and redesigned bootlid.
While we cannot see the interior of the Tucson Facelift, expect features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a fully-digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats with driver-side memory function, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, audio setup from BOSE and more. The SUV will also come equipped with Level 2 ADAS features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Assist, Lane Watch Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, a 360-degree camera, Driver Attention Monitor, and Rear Cross-Traffic Assist.

The facelifted Tucson is likely to retain the diesel and petrol powertrain options of the current model. The former is a 2-litre turbo diesel unit making 183 bhp with 416 Nm of peak torque. As for the petrol, it is a 2-litre naturally aspirated motor that pumps out 154 bhp of power with 192 Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Hyundai is likely to launch the facelifted Tucson in India by either late 2024 or early 2025. It will rival the likes of the Citroen C5 Aircross, VW Tiguan, and Skoda Kodiaq.
