Taking an eco-friendly path for its future, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) today launched the Baleno S-CNG and XL6 S-CNG models in the country. These are the first S-CNG models to come from the NEXA stable of the automaker. The Baleno and the XL6 are the first premium offerings in the country to come equipped with factory fitted CNG kit.
Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG is priced at Rs 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom), the new model is Rs 95,000 more expensive than the standard Zeta manual variant. Price for the Baleno S-CNG line-up starts at Rs 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom) and extends to Rs 9.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The four-wheeler comes equipped with a 1.2-liter K-series petrol engine producing 75 bhp and 98 Nm. The system comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and returns a class-leading 30.61 km.kg of claimed economy. Like the XL6, the Baleno S-CNG does not sport any cosmetic changes on the exterior or the interior. The Baleno S-CNG will take on the upcoming Tata Altroz CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG, one the models are ready to launch.
