Maruti Suzuki has started accepting bookings for XL6 Facelift in India.
Maruti Suzuki today announced the start of bookings for its upcoming premium MPV, the XL6. Interested customers can now book the vehicle at a nominal price of Rs 11,000 prior to its launch in the coming days.
On the outside, the XL6 Facelift will remain fairly like the outgoing model but will sport significant changes under the skin. Similar to its less expensive cousin, the Maruti Ertiga Facelift, the XL6 will come equipped with an advanced 6-speed automatic transmission offering paddle shifters. Adding two extra gears combined with the mild-hybrid system will help improve the fuel economy of the vehicle. Unlike the Ertiga, the XL6 will only be available with a petrol engine.
While Maruti has mentioned that the upcoming MPV will come with an array of sophisticated comfort and convenience features, the company has shied away from spilling more beans. The carmaker has confirmed that it will also offer an advanced suite of Connected Car Technology. We also expect the upgraded version to provide the same technologies seen on the recently launched Maruti Baleno Facelift. These include a large floating touchscreen, 6-airbags, a 360-degree camera and HUD.
The company has already confirmed a price hike for all its models in late April, owing to the current geopolitical situation and rise in raw material costs. Considering all the changes and the price hike, we expect the XL6 Facelift to cost Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh more over the outgoing model.
“The XL6 is a unique proposition that perfectly marries a strong SUV-like design and the convenience of a spacious 6-seater MPV. The All-New XL6 embodies NEXA’s vision of being an aspirational lifestyle brand and creating an indulgent driving experience. It appeals to the discerning NEXA buyer who is looking for a perfect mix of style, comfort, performance and sophistication. We have seen demand grow for premium MPVs over the past couple of years. We are confident that the All-New XL6 with its bold styling, host of new and advanced technologies along with enhanced safety will deliver an indulgent and stylish experience for our NEXA customers”, commented Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited on the occasion of this announcement.
Maruti XL6 has been a slow seller for the company. Despite its practical appeal and premium interiors, the MPV has failed to attract customers as the Ertiga does. But with improved packaging and a longer feature list, do you think the XL6 will get its time to shine now?
