MG Motor India is going to add a new special edition version to its kitty with the introduction of the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition. This new edition will be more of an extension of the features that are in the regular Comet EV, but with more style and some extra equipment. If you have witnessed other Blackstorm editions from MG, you might know what you can expect here with the Comet EV.
The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition will be made in an all-black outer cover with the sporty outline with bold red highlights, highly seen on the front fender, wheel caps, fog lamp surrounds, and side cladding. The front grille is also affected with blacked-out elements and "Morris Garages" will use a striking red font on its branding. The Blackstorm edition will also feature an exclusive badge on the front fender for its special status.
Although the Comet EV is available in a color known as Starry Black, the Blackstorm edition will add an element of distinction with the red detailing characteristic of MG's Blackstorm variants. The variant is similar to the other variants that have made an appearance - Gloster, Hector, and ZS EV.
The interior of the Comet EV Blackstorm should be similar to other Blackstorm editions with an all-black cabin and red accents. The seats are likely to feature black leatherette cloth, which could even include Blackstorm branding. Overall, the cabin should reflect style combined with sleekness like most other editions of MG's Blackstorm.
The design change is noticeable but the overall features of the Blackstorm edition of the Comet EV will be mostly the same as the standard Comet EV. One can expect 10.25-inch touchscreen along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver's display will be the same, and air conditioning will be manually controlled. In terms of audio, four speakers will be in the car.
The MG Comet EV Blackstorm will feature the same 17.4 kWh prismatic cell battery of the standard Comet EV. It would offer an average range of 230 kilometers with a single charge, suitable for city travel. The power delivery is at 41.42 bhp with a torque of 110 Nm. Thus, these values ensure the Comet EV to drive smoothly and efficiently.
Although more expensive than the regular Comet EV, this car will come at a price that is still reasonable. The standard Comet EV is priced between Rs. 7 lakh to Rs. 9.65 lakh. The special features and Blackstorm design added to the Blackstorm edition make it likely to be in excess of those prices.
The Blackstorm editions by MG have been very popular and have added a sportier, more stylish look to the company's models. This edition of the Comet EV will add another dimension to its uniqueness in the electric vehicle market. The trend of having more customers searching for unique and stylish options makes this Blackstorm edition likely to grab attention and make the car even more attractive.
