MG Motor India is ready to launch its new electric car - the Windsor EV next month. Based on the Wuling Cloud EV available globally, the Windsor EV will be the third electric offering from the brand after Comet and ZS EV. The price announcement for the Windsor EV will be made on September 11.
Previous sightings have already revealed some of its exterior design features. These include LED light bars at the front and rear, a charging port on the left front fender, a vertically stacked headlamp cluster with projector headlights, flush-fitting door handles, integrated spoiler, and chunky alloy wheels.
Moving on the inside, the EV will come with black leatherette upholstery for seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and rear seats with 135-degree recline function dubbed aero-lounge seats.
Internationally, the Cloud EV is available with two battery packs - 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh. Each battery pack comes with a single electric motor, offering the claimed range of 360km and 460km, respectively, on a full charge. However, it is yet to be decided which battery pack is going to be offered for the India-spec model.
The Windsor EV will be positioned below the ZS EV and is expected to be priced under Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and Mahindra XUV400.
