Tata Motors has officially revealed the new Altroz facelift ahead of its launch on May 22, 2025. The updated model has received design and interior changes along with several high-end features. The 2025 Tata Altroz will directly rival the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment.
With the mid-life facelift to Altroz, Tata Motors would aim to challenge the dominance of the Baleno which is currently the top-selling model in its category. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with good set of features; however, the new Altroz offers these additional features.
The Altroz facelift will come with a factory-fitted electric sunroof, which is missing in the Maruti Baleno. In fact, this feature is available from the second variant, just above the base Pure variant, of the hatchback line-up. Moreover, the sunroof features a voice assistant function.
Similar to the Nexon, the new Tata Altroz comes equipped with a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument console. The driver’s display unit also shows the Google Map navigation, which is a useful feature. On the other hand, the Baleno gets the 7-inch semi-digital instrument panel with an MID.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, while the Altroz facelift gets a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment. However, both come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, connected car tech and 360-degree surround view camera system.
The Tata Altroz facelift gets a wireless phone charger, which add convenience, makes console clutter free, and improved safety. This feature is missing in the Baleno hatchback. Both cars are equipped with Type-C and Type-A ports.
The new Altroz comes equipped with a premium flush-type door handles, which we have already seen on the Tata Curvv SUV Coupe. In fact, the door handles come with illumination. On the flip side, the Baleno hatchback gets traditional door handles.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Altroz facelift comes equipped with an air purifier. This feature is available only in the top-of-the-line Accomplished+ S variant. The air purifier system is missing in the Baleno.
The new Altroz hatchback comes with dual-tone black and beige interior scheme. To elevate the cabin experience further, Tata Motors has added ambient lighting in the premium hatchback. On the other hand, Baleno misses out on Ambient lighting feature.
Maruti Suzuki is offering six airbags in the top-spec variant of the Baleno; however, the company plans to offer this feature as standard across all its cars. Tata has confirmed that the new Altroz will come with six airbags and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard.
