Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2023 GLC Coupe for the western European market, offering a plethora of enhancements including electrified powertrains and standard features. The latest model introduces an updated infotainment system and an improved design language. According to the automaker, the model will go on sale from July 2023 onwards. Let us check out what the New GLC Coupe has to offer to its customers.
Talking about the dimensions, the Second-Generation GLC Coupe measures 4,763mm in length, making it 31mm longer and 5mm higher than its previous generation. Even the track widths are larger by 6mm at the front (now standing at 1,627 mm) and 23mm towards the rear (measuring 1,640 mm). However, the width remains the same at 1,890 mm. Furthermore, the vehicle now gets increased boot space of 545 litres which is significantly 45 litres more than the previous model.
In terms of design, the Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe highlights a larger front grille and tweaked LED headlamps to give a fresh look to the car. In addition, the company has retained its coupe-like design for the model. It has a sloping roof line and a lift-back tailgate. Towards the rear, an all-new tail lamp design has also been featured on the new model.
On the inside, Mercedes offers a heavily restyled dashboard with a 12.3-inch instrument display and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented centre display. The interior also includes newly-styled air vents and a new multifunction steering wheel. Apart from this, the automaker provides a panoramic sunroof, a new head-up display, and a Burmester 710W surround system with 15 speakers on its New GLC Coupe.
Electrified powertrain options are also available for the 2023 GLC Coupe. The mild-hybrid units include the second-generation integrated starter-generator (ISG) and the 48-volt on-board electrical system. The integrated starter generator supports the combustion engine at low engine speeds. Whereas the 48-volt onboard electrical system offers functionalities like boosting, coasting, and energy recovery which enhances overall efficiency.
Powered by mild-hybrid technology, the Next-Gen GLC Coupe is available with two petrol and two diesel engine options. The GLC 200 4MATIC generates 201 bhp and 320 Nm torque whereas the GLC 300 4MATIC can deliver 254 bhp of power output with 400 Nm torque. On the other hand, the GLC 220 d 4MATIC produces 194 bhp and 440 Nm torque while its GLC 300 d 4MATIC puts out 265 bhp and 550 Nm of peak torque.
