Indian auto giant, Tata Motors has started taking bookings for the updated Harrier and Safari SUVs in India. Both models get a few cosmetic changes and feature additions.
First showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the 2023 Tata Harrier and Tata Safari will come equipped ADAS-tech like traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure warning and more. In addition, the company has also introduced a new 360-degree camera on the top-spec models.
Other additions to the cabin include a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster. Additionally, both SUVs get updated driving modes and an ESP terrain response system. The Safari also gets ambient lighting around edges of the panoramic sunroof.

Powering the Harrier and the Safari is the same 2-litre 4-pot turbodiesel unit that makes 170 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed torque converter automatic or a 6-speed manual.
Tata has also updated the powertrain to meet the upcoming BS6 Phase-2 and RDE norms from April 2023 and will also be E20 fuel compliant.
Expect the refreshed Harrier and Safari to be priced Rs 50,000 - Rs 1 lakh more than the current models.
The Harrier and Safari competes with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Alcazar, Kia Seltos, Škoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, MG Hector and Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, and the Jeep Compass.
