India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Kia India has trademarked the ‘Kia Syros’ nameplate, likely to be used for its upcoming sub-4-metre SUV. We already have some information about its design and features, thanks to multiple spy images and videos. It will be Kia’s answer to the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Measuring around 3.8 meters in length, the Syros will be the smallest and most affordable SUV offering from the South Korean automaker in India.
Previous spy images reveal that the Syros compact SUV will have a boxy and upright stance, along with high ground clearance. It will feature Kia’s signature front grille, vertically positioned LED headlamps and taillamps, thick body cladding, roof rails, and large glass windows with distinct kinks.
Interior details are scant at this point. However, the new Kia compact SUV is expected to come with a dual-screen setup—one for the infotainment system and one for the instrument cluster. Features such as a Bose audio system, leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera could be reserved for the higher trims.
If rumors are to be believed, the Kia Syros might also be equipped with ADAS tech. For safety, there could also be six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear disc brakes, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
It is too early to comment on its powertrains, but the Kia Syros is likely to be offered with both petrol and electric powertrain options. It will initially be introduced with a petrol engine only, with the electric Syros to arrive at a later stage.

The new Kia compact SUV will involve a high degree of localization, so we can expect it to be priced aggressively. In the company’s product lineup, the Syros will sit below the Sonet, with its market launch expected in early 2025.
