Toyota has been working on the launch of its rugged pick-up truck, the Hilux Facelift. The new Hilux's test mule is spotted in Thailand with major camouflage in the front, and back of the pick-up truck. It is suspected that this new version will be getting some major upgrades, inside and out, as well as a new engine spec.
The facelift version of the Hilux is going to make its launch global soon and the spied images from Thailand hint toward some exterior updates. In the picture, we see the camouflaged front of the pick-up truck which seems to hide a more upright nose, a flatter bonnet, and slim LED headlights. Some reports also suggest that this new version could feature the "Hilux Travo" moniker. However, the doors and roof look similar to the present model.
The Toyota logo is also missing which suggests the feature of text branding between the headlamps like Land Cruiser Prado. Other design elements that could get a refreshed look are the bumper at both the front and back and a new set of LED tail lamps.
There are no images of the vehicle's cabin, so it is only expected that the new Hilux will get minor changes and updates with some additional features.
Toyota has yet to confirm officially the engine specification for any petrol-strong hybrid version. It is likely through reports that the Toyota Hilux facelift could be powered by the new mild-hybrid diesel powertrain. The Hilux will continue to be based on Toyota's IMV platform.
