We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki will launch the Fronx facelift in the country in 2026. The crossover will receive significant changes in terms of mechanics and features. First launched in India in April 2023, the crossover has now been introduced in the Indonesian market.
The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift is likely to share some of its features with the Indonesian-spec model. Moreover, the crossover is expected to be the first model to feature an in-house developed hybrid engine.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift will come with six airbags as standard, ESP, 360-degree camera, hill-hold assist, three-point seatbelt for all passengers, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and others as standard.
The Indonesian-spec model gets LEVEL 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) tech. It is expected that the Fronx facelift could offer ADAS features such as rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and others.
The big news is that the Fronx facelift could be the first Maruti Suzuki to feature an in-house developed hybrid powertrain. It will be a series hybrid tech, which is claimed to be cheaper than series-parallel and parallel hybrid tech.
The Fronx hybrid is likely to get the 1.2L Z12E petrol engine, which act as a generator or range extender. The engine will produce electricity to power an electric motor that will turn the wheels. It is reportedly to offer a mileage of over 35kmpl, which will be a game-changer in the market.
The new Fronx facelift is expected to receive some design changes and an upgraded cabin. It could get a new grille, tweaked bumper and revised headlamp setup, new alloy wheels and an updated tail-lights.
Inside the cabin, Maruti Suzuki could add a slightly tweaked dashboard, a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit and new upholstery for seats. The SUV is also likely to get a factory-fitted electric sunroof.
