Ferrari is all set to enter the luxury SUV segment with its first-ever SUV called Purosangue
Expected to go by the name ‘Purosangue’, Ferrari has finally teased it’s much rumoured luxury SUV. Sharing a glimpse of the luxury SUV on its official Instagram handle, Ferrari wrote “You’ve heard the rumours... and we’re delighted to confirm they’re true (some of them). All will be revealed later this year.” The vehicle first came to light when leaked images surfaced from the Italian automakers manufacturing facility revealing its design details.
Building the hype, Ferrari has now shared a dark image of the SUV on social media . Although the images are shadowy, it reveals a striking looking front end as seen through these leaked images. The design of the luxury SUV resembles the Ferrari Roma while the split headlamps looks to be borrowed from Ferrari’s SF90 supercar, with slight differentiating elements when looked upon keenly. The massive front grill with the “Prancing Horse” logo in the centre and the large hood give the SUV a muscular stance with well-defined creases. The SUV shows visible heft but sits lower as compared to the conventional SUVs.
While Ferrari has not confirmed the powertrain options for the four wheeler, we can expect it to be powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo hybrid engine taken from the Ferrari 296 GTB that puts out 645 bhp and 740 Nm of torque. The rumour mill also suggest a top of the line V12 engine.
The interiors of the luxury SUV from Ferrari is expected to get a completely new dashboard layout, which will set the tone for Ferrari’s upcoming offerings.
When launched, the Ferrari Purosangue will rival Lamborghini Urus, Astor Martin DBX and Porsche Cayenne along with other performance-oriented SUVs globally.
Ongoing production slowdowns and certification issues are the major reason behind the delay in the global debut of the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ
