Most powerful version of the Urus SUV; Lighter by 47 kg; Expected to launch in India soon
Automobili Lamborghini has launched a more powerful version of its Super SUV, the Urus internationally. Priced at USD 260,000, the Urus Performante will deliver more power and downforce while weighing less. Yet to be launched in India, the company is expected to start deliveries before the end of the year.
On the outside, the Urus Performante get functional changes like a carbon fibre bonnet (standard fitment) with two air vents, reprofiled front bumper with larger air dams and a re-worked rear end. Also new to the car is a roof-spoiler that adds more downforce to the car.
Excluding these changes, the Urus Performante remains identical to the standard model.
On the inside, the Lamborghini gets an all-black cabin, finished in Alcantara as standard. The seats get a new hexagonal stitch pattern along with new Perfomante inscriptions seats, doors and roof-lining. For the ones who want customise their Urus, the company is offering the choice for leather interiors along with a Dark package that adds matte black finish to various gloss elements. Overall the vehicle continues with the familiar cabin that houses two large screens for infotainment and in-cabin control.
In terms of performance, the Italian carmaker has given the Super SUV 666bhp (15bhp more than the standard) and reduced the weight by 47 kilograms. The four-wheeler also sits on a new coil-spring setup making the car 20mm lower than before. In addition to these changes, the car also gets a new driving mode called Rally mode to tackle the dirt tracks.
Expected to come to India at a later date, this SUV will help Lamborghini India further expand its presence in the country. The Urus Performante rivals the likes of Audi RSQ8, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and the Aston Martin DBX in its segment.
