Mahindra has had a tough time after launching its first electric SUV, the BE 6e, in India. One of the well-established airlines IndiGo had filed a lawsuit against the automaker for using Indigo's 6E moniker for BE 6e electric SUV. However, Mahindra has decided to rename its electric SUV from BE 6e to BE 6.

The automaker had already registered the "BE" name which stands for "Born Electric". The BE 6e was the first model to be developed under this BE sub-brand. With the new name (BE 6), the electric SUV will continue to be on sale in the Indian market.
During the launch, the brand had only displayed the base variant named Pack One, which stands at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will also get two more variants - Pack Two and Pack Three. The full price list for the BE 6 will be revealed at the Bharat Mobility Show which will start from January 17, 2025. Deliveries for the BE 6 are scheduled to start in late February or early March 2025.
Despite being the base model, the BE 6 Pack One variant comes with a range of premium features. It comprises a dual 12.3-inch display for touchscreen infotainment and a digital instrument cluster. The eSUV also offers 5G connectivity, OTA updates, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, 65W Type C ports for front & rear seats, connected car technology, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, second-row recline with 60:40 split-folding functionality, and a lot more.
Safety is also on point for the Mahindra's electric-origin SUV. It has 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, driver drowsiness detection system, an electronic parking brake, rear camera & sensors, auto headlights, and rear disc brakes.
Beneath the hood, the Mahindra BE 6 gets a battery pack of 59 kWh, offering a power torque of 231 bhp/ 380 Nm with the best range of 542 km. The car also gets multiple drive modes - Range, Everyday, and Race with Boost Function.

Several new electric vehicles will be launched in India in 2025, including Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, MG M9, MG Cyberster, and Tata Harrier EV.
