German automaker BMW wants to end the year on a high with three new car launches slated for December 10, 2022. The lineup includes the facelifted X7 and M340i as well as the XM, the first SUV from M division.
The XM is the second-ever bespoke model and first to use an electrified powertrain from BMW’s M Division. The production version looks quite similar to the concept showcased in 2021 with the massive illuminated front grille, split headlights and vertically stacked exhausts.
The SUV uses a plug-in hybrid system that pairs a 4.4-litre V8 and a single electric motor to churn out 644 bhp and 800 Nm of max power and torque, respectively. The 25.7 kWh battery pack also provides an electric only range of 88 kms. BMW claims a 0-100 acceleration time of just 4.3 seconds while top speed is limited to 250 kmph.

BMW is bringing the facelifted X7 to India. The new was unveiled internationally in April 2022 and features split headlights that flank the new extra-large grille. Moving to the inside, there’s a new single curved display that houses the 14.9-inch infotainment unit and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The physical buttons and air-con vents have been updated as well.
The updated BMW X7 is likely to get mild-hybrid powertrains in India. The new inline-six petrol engine with the 48-volt mild-hybrid system is rated for 380 bhp and 540 Nm of peak torque.
The third and last model expected to arrive in India will be the updated M340i. The performance oriented 3-series model will be the first variant to receive a facelift in the country. The sedan gets new headlights and grille alongside a redesigned bumper. On the inside, the new model will feature a single piece multi-display unit featuring the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the 14.9-inch infotainment system.
