The Nissan Magnite CNG has finally been launched in the country. The sub-4 meter SUV gets a government-approved CNG retro-fitment, and the CNG kit is manufactured by Motozen. The Magnite CNG prices start at Rs 6.89 lakh and go up to Rs 10.02 lakh, which is Rs 75,000 dearer than the respective petrol variants.
Bookings of the new Nissan Magnite CNG will commence from June 1 at authorised dealerships. The CNG retrofitment kits will be rolled out in a phased manner. In the first phase, the CNG kit will be available in 7 states, including Delhi NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka.
Nissan India has officially announced that the outgoing Magnite is compatible with the retrofit CNG kit; however, testing of the CNG kit on the pre-facelift model is yet to be commenced.
Nissan dealers are offering a single-cylinder CNG kit in the Magnite powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is available as standard. The CNG kit installation will be carried out at government-authorised fitment centres. Nissan is offering 3 year/ 1 lakh km warranty as standard with the CNG fitment.
The Nissan Magnite CNG will rival the likes of the Tata Punch CNG, Hyundai Exter CNG and Renault Tiger CNG. Similar to the Magnite CNG, the Renault Kiger also gets a dealer-level CNG fitment that costs Rs 75,000.
