The Toyota Land Cruiser is back with a bang in the Indian markets with a new version. Undeniably iconic among SUVs, this is a variant that has had it all, from the rugged capability to pure luxury features, and is considered a powerhouse for on-road comfort and off-road adventures. The newest model, available only in the fully loaded ZX version, speaks to Toyota's promise of delivering an all-encompassing SUV experience with a blend of luxury, technology, and durability. Its robust design, combined with advanced features, assures that the Land Cruiser shall be one of the leaders in the luxury SUV market.
It command an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.10 crore, pan-India, which itself makes it one of the premium luxury SUVs. Available only in one single fully loaded ZX variant, it promises each buyer an absolute top-of-the-line experience with features and capabilities that indeed make for a standout product in its class.
As the Land Cruiser is available in only one variant, which is the fully loaded ZX, it becomes a value-for-money option. With all the premium features coming with it, customers will get luxury, performance, and safety without having to opt for any other variants.
The luxury features that Land Cruiser presents ensure comfort and convenience, some of which are highlighted by a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, four-zone automatic climate control, and power front seats featuring heating and ventilation. A powered tailgate makes the vehicle more convenient, while advanced terrain modes ensure the off-road driving experience. Additional luxurious touches include a 14-speaker JBL sound system and premium leather upholstery.
With its mammoth 3.3-litre V6 twin-turbo diesel engine, this Land Cruiser will always prioritize power and performance over fuel efficiency. Though mileage figures depend on the conditions of driving, it can offer you around 8-10 km/l, which is rather adequate for a full-sized, high-powered SUV.
Safety-wise, the Land Cruiser comes with 10 airbags, multi-terrain ABS and EBD, and a Vehicle Stability Control system. Additional safety features offered are full-size four-wheel ABS with traction control, hill-start assist, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems such as adaptive cruise control. The aforementioned safety can be teamed with a panoramic view monitor and parking support brake for tight maneuvers.
The Land Cruiser now has five refined colors, including Precious White Pearl, Super White, Dark Red Mica Metallic, Attitude Black, and Dark Blue Mica. Such colors perfectly fit the exterior as they manage to provide a high-class and muscular look, which serves buyers with more options according to their style.
Under the bonnet, this strong 3.3-liter V6 twin-turbo diesel motor is good for producing as much as 304.77 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. A silky-smooth 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system have been thrown into its mix for better torque character and off-road performance. So, therefore, the Land Cruiser is put together with specific performance characteristics in mind, especially in the conditions off-road, where its adaptive variable suspension and robust powertrain come out and conquer.
There is enough room for both people and cargo in the Toyota Land Cruiser, making it very comfortable to travel. In its dimensions, it measures 4985 mm in length, 1980 mm in width, and 1945 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. The cabin is spacious enough to carry five full passengers, while the boot space is liberal enough at 1131 litres to ensure you reach any destination, especially over long drives. Added to that, the large 110-litre fuel tank allows longer journeys without frequent stops for refueling.
Competitors to the Toyota Land Cruiser in the luxury SUV market are heavyweights such as the Land Rover Range Rover and Lexus LX. The luxury and off-road capabilities of the Land Rover Range Rover simply cannot be rivaled, though, of course, the price tag is also pretty astronomical. So, another alternative to the Land Cruiser comes in more premium terms in the Lexus LX. However, the Land Cruiser has rugged durability and a rich heritage you, which is relatively less expensive than its counterpart Lexus LX.
