Most of the car manufacturers have released their February month sales, and we have already informed that Mahindra manages to outsmart Hyundai to become 2nd largest carmaker. In this article, we talk about the sales of Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Kia. While Kia India reported a massive growth, Maruti Suzuki saw a marginal growth in domestic sales. Tata reported a decline in YoY sales in February 2025.
Maruti Suzuki has reported a marginal YoY sales growth of 0.32% in the domestic passenger vehicle sales in February 2025. In the PV category, MSIL sold a total 1,60,791 vehicles as compared to 1,60,271 units in the same month last year. However, the brand's MoM sales decline by 7.38% as it sold 1,73,599 vehicles in the month of January 2025.
Maruti Suzuki's exports decline by 13.50 percent. The company exported 25,021 units in February 2025 as against 28,927 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY decline of 13.50%. Sales to Toyota stood at 10,878 last month, nearly 111% jump compared to February 2024. In the LCV category, MSIL sold 2710 units as compared to 3126 vehicles in Feb last month.
The brand's total sales were 199400 including Domestic and Export in February 2025 as compared to 197471 units in the same month last year.
Tata Motors sales are on decline, reporting a YoY decline of 9.43 percent. The company sold a total of 46,435 units in the domestic passenger vehicle category as against 51,267 units in the same month last year.
The company exported 376 vehicles in February 2025 as against 54 units in the same month last year, reporting a massive YoY export jump of 596 percent.
The big update is that Tata's electric vehicle sales further declined last month. The company sold a total of 5343 electric cars in February 2025 as against 6,923 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales decline of 22.82 percent.
Thanks to the new Syros, Kia has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 23.89 percent. The company has sold a total of 25,026 units in February 2025 as against 20,200 units in the same month last year. However, the brand's month-on-month sales remain stagnant as it sold 25,025 units in January 2025.
Kia sold a total of 7598 units of Sonet last month, while Seltos and Syros accounts for 6446 units and 5425 units, respectively. Kia sold a total of 5318 units of the Carens, while Carnival sales were 239 units in February 2025.
MG Motor India had retailed 4956 vehicles to customers in February 2025 - electric vehicle lineup contributed 78% of its total sales during the February month.
