Latest media reports suggest that Tata Motors is planning to launch the new, facelifted Nexon in India by mid-2023. One of the most popular sub-compact SUVs in the country, the Nexon is expected to get a revised exterior design, new interior features, and updated powertrains. It is believed that the facelifted model will be produced at Tata Motors Ranjangaon manufacturing facility that is shared with Stellantis, who builds Jeep SUVs on a different assembly line.
While Tata has not released any official pictures of the facelifted Nexon, leaked spy shots of camouflaged test mules give us an idea of what it will look like. The design of the upcoming subcompact SUV will take design cues from the Curvv Concept. Compared to the outgoing model, the front end of the vehicle seems more upright and flatter. It will offer a split design grille with diamond-shaped elements in the lower half while the redesigned headlights sit lower than before. A new full-width LED light bar will sit above the grille. The side profile remains fairly similar to the current model except for new alloy wheels. Moving to the rear, the redesigned tail lights are now connected by a LED light bar while the tailgate is flatter than before and blends neatly into the new rear bumper.
The new four-wheeler will get an overhauled interior. Latest reports suggest that the vehicle will offer a fully digital instrument cluster and Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that was introduced with the Safari and Harrier Red Dark Editions. Other notable new equipment will include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera. The company may also offer ADAS-Tech in the facelifted Nexon’s higher variants, making it the first subcompact SUV to get the feature.

The automaker will continue to offer the Nexon Facelift with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The oil-burner will be a 1.5-litre turbo diesel motor that makes 114 bhp with 260 Nm of peak torque. The petrol Nexon is expected to get a new 1.2-litre engine that was showcased at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo. It will deliver a power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm of torque which is a bump of 7 bhp and 55 Nm over the outgoing petrol motor. Transmission choices will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT. The brand could introduce a new automatic gearbox option as well.

The manufacturer is expected to launch the updated Nexon .EV alongside the ICE-models and will be built at the same production line. The pure electric Nexon will feature a slightly different design with unique .EV elements, helping it differentiate from its conventionally-powered siblings.
As per certain media reports, the Tata Nexon Facelift will enter production by July 2023. The SUV is slated to be launched sometime in August 2023. Tata is aiming to produce around 15,000 units per month of the ICE-models and 5,000 units for the Nexon .EV.
Upon launch, the New Tata Nexon will rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and the Maruti Brezza in its segment.
